Genetic variability, genetic advance and heritability of black and brown seeded soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] lines in Jimma and Bonga Southwest Ethiopia

An experiment was conducted with a simple lattice design two replications to estimate the genetic variability in 62 soybean genotypes and 2 standard check varieties. The parameters such as mean, range of variation, genotypic phenotypic coefficient heritability broad sense, advance, advance percentage mean were estimated for 11 different traits. values variation (PCV) greater than (GCV) all traits, revealing influence environmental factors. value determined be high traits grain yield, harvest index, number seeds per pod, primary branches plant, pods plant hundred seed weight. Indicating that larger portion total would under control selection based on levels useful improvement these soybean.
